UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine recently hosted two internationally-recognized experts in their fields as part of our Ralph and Mary Wilson Sports Medicine Lecture Series.
Christian Gerber MD is a shoulder surgeon from Zurich who spoke to us about his research and clinical approach to complex rotator cuff problems and reverse shoulder replacement. We spent an afternoon in our arthroscopy and cadaver lab performing rotator cuff repair and shoulder instability surgery. His visit involved an introductory dinner at E.B. Green’s Steakhouse along with an appreciation for our Art Museum and local architecture.
Steven Arnoczky DVM is a leading orthopaedic researcher from Michigan State who spoke to us about some of his research interests, including tendon and cartilage pathology and healing. His visit involved dinner at the Buffalo Chophouse and some local fly fishing. Both visits were an outstanding learning experience for all. Our continuing lecture series is open to our orthopaedic and allied health community. Our lecture schedule can be found at
